Prayer and what it is to pray
Prayer is when we commune with God.
This is what the bible says...
You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. (John 14:13)
I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. (Mark 11:24)
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. (1 Timothy 2:1)
By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. (Hebrews 10:20)
So now it's time to talk to God. Ask the Father in the name of Jesus for this brings glory to God. When you pray believe that whatever you need is God has already supplied the answer for it. Then you ought to continue thanking Him for it with joyful expectation until you see the physical evidence for it. And afterwards you keep on thanking Him and praising Him!
Remember that when you received Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour you became God's son. Therefore you must talk to God as your loving and perfect Father with reverence but much affection. You must pray all the time for all people. There's never too much praying. Those who are weak or don't know Jesus need your prayers.
The Holy Spirit will open up the Scriptures in such a way that they will inspire you to pray in the right way! The bible will teach you what and how to pray.
Finally you must be aware that every time you talk to God is from within the Most Holy Place, as Jesus has opened the way to the Father. You can now have intimacy with God. You must take advantage of such intimate place to worship Him, He deserves it all the time.
Now pray enjoying fellowship with your Heavenly Daddy!
